Hello, My Beautiful Body.

That’s something I don’t tell you enough. You’re beautiful. Far more often, I point out your flaws. Treat you poorly. Give you garbage food, then get mad at you for having extra flubber.

Frankly, it’s not fair. You work so hard to give me the best possible existence on this plane. You allow me to enjoy the smells of nature. To taste delicious foods. To feel the hug of a loved one. To see the sunset. To hear the soothing flow of a river. You try your best to be strong. To allow me to travel, hike, and explore.

Yet I get mad at you for doing a fundamental aspect of your job — turning the surplus of calories into storage.

I’m sorry.

You want to be healthy for my benefit. I want to help you help me. I want us to work together. Friends, not enemies.

For years, I’ve put you through a rollercoaster. I’ve had trouble finding a healthy way of eating that sticks.

I’ve decided to try again in the form of alternate day fasting. It has a bit of both of the things we like — fasting and feasting.

I believe you’re capable of handling anything. You’re a freaking trooper and have proven time and time again that you’re strong and resilient.

In truth, I’m the one I doubt.

But I promise to listen to you and try my best. I’ll work to handle my side of things. I’ll meditate, ground, and speak kindly to myself. I’ll utilize my tools of EFT Tapping, essential oils, and journaling. I’ll work on changing myself while you work on yours.

Thank you for taking this journey with me.

Sincerely,

My Mind
